burial//tunes

pretty inspiring weekend of music listening and music reading.  also the four tet album drops this week.  it is wicked good.

first this burial interview

a really cool read if only to see how he locates his music and self in a way which really ‘bucks’ the times – so to speak.  burial approaches identity through absence rather than the all-to-familiar hyper-presence of the social networking/blog age.  he is – unlike his colleagues – a literal ghost; pumping out tunes and leaving the rest up to our oft-ignored spectral imaginary.

in other words, burial has gone rogue in a way which doesn’t wave a pirate flag.  i quite like it.

awesomeness all over.
